Does Mr. Hall reside in South Florida? My client, Forest Trace, a resort retirement community in Lauderhill, has an ongoing project where they honor octogenarians who have “turned back time” and embraced life by changing the stereotypes of aging. I read about him in Trend magazine and thought he would make a great honoree ( and speaker). Would love to get in touch with him and pursue the discussion but cannot find contact info online. Can you help?

I was asked to film with Bill and Jessica back in December 2010 for their show Headhunters…..upon arriving he graciously waited for me to come up the elevator……did the introductions and gave me the grand tour…..I was there to basically talk about and research any possible “haunted objects”….we all had a great time, and talked long after the shooting was done. Soon after I got a few emails from Bill expressing his gratitude for my participation in the show. He also wanted to formally invite me to this year’s Halloween party……Sadly due to my own tight film and travel schedule I only just found out today that Bill passed. I was deeply saddened by the news, and offer my condolences to his family, friends, and his lovely Jessica!

The Fair was terrible if you are over 35 or have never been there 10 years prior. There were 6 chickens and 2 ducks!!!! All the exhibits in horticulture hall and old main shrunk in size by 50%. Ha-and not that I care but I noticed-no Voter registration/support tents at the exhibit halls. The big Gyro tent-gone. The animal exhibits -sad-ever since the animal barns were torn down things seem to have slowly vanished-mostly, the agricultural heritage the fair should be strongly maintaining. Guess I’m old school when it comes to fair but the freak show seems to have migrated, welcome commercialism.

Sadly, it makes a great story (“The Killer Who Got Away!”)… but that’s all it is. No showman nor expert nor people who actually knew the real folks involved with the assasination ever identified the man nor his mummy as being the “real” Booth. “Hiding” the mummy that appeared as Booth is and always will be the result of a collector owning an “artifact” he/she refuses to lose. And believe me, even though the mummy would turn out not to be Booth, it’d still be taken away from the collector. All the hardcore collectors know that. Worst, I suppose, is that the story of Booth’s survial (as opposed to the reality) continues to be pondered, just because of the no-test we have with that mummy. So it goes.

Dewey, not sure if you’re talking to/about me & my connection to the shows, but I’ll be unavailable the month of August; sorry. I’ll be back in September in Baltimore, though, with a number of shows with which I’m connected. If you’re trying to catch up to Ward Hall & Chris Christ and their World of Wonders show, your best bet is to “like” them on Facebook and contact them that way. And you really shouldn’t avoid the Sideshow Gathering in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the first weekend of Nov. It’s the only convention of its kind, and it’ll be filled with sideshow and burlesque folk from all over.
